We visit this area every year and usually stay at another hotel nearby. This time, we decided to extend our trip by one night and try something new after seeing this hotel had been renovated and was offering a great promo deal on Booking.com. We’re so glad we did as this might just become our new go-to spot! We booked an Oceanfront Queen on the 2nd floor, and the experience exceeded expectations. The view and ocean waves at night were amazing, and while the hotel is in a lively area with bars nearby, the sound of the waves helped drown out the noise. We never heard our neighbors and slept great. From check-in to check-out, the staff was incredible - friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The hospitality stood out with thoughtful touches like an informational sheet at check-in, a full hot breakfast, and in-room coffee. The biggest highlight? The modern efficiency of the room. Everything was designed for comfort and convenience: • Raised beds with storage space underneath. • A brilliant multi-functional sliding door that doubles as a closet, fridge, safe, and ironing board storage. • An epic bathroom with plush robes, pool towels, plentiful hooks, and wall-mounted toiletries (body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, lotion). • A full-size couch and two rolling tables for working or dining. • A large TV (around 55 inches, though not a smart TV—no streaming services). • Farm-style sliding shutters so you can control the natural light. • Queen bed with lights, side tables, and outlets on both sides. Everything felt new, clean, and comfortable, and while the balcony was small, it was still a great place to sit and enjoy the ocean breeze. This was an efficiently designed, comfortable, and well-thought-out stay, and we’ll definitely be back!

We really enjoyed this hotel and the staff was very friendly and accommodating! The room was very clean, modern, and spacious. Our queen ocean view room included plenty of drawer/closet space, TV, a coffee maker, couch, chair, tables, safe, fluffy robes, and beach towels. The balcony was small but contained a table and 2 chairs, which was perfect for breakfast each morning. The included breakfast was pretty standard. The beach area was directly across the boardwalk, very nice, and close to a main lifeguard station and pier. The hotel was very centrally located, within a block of the bus stop as well as multiple shops and restaurants. We were easily able to take the bus anywhere from La Jolla to Old Town within 20 minutes and Ubers were reasonable and always available within a few minutes. We very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning!

Amazing location in many ways. Super fun part of the neighborhood, and right on the boardwalk. So close to the beach that we were able to go directly from the ocean (which at the end of August was totally warm enough to go into) into the pool. Didn't even have to go through the lobby. There was a key-card door right from the boardwalk into the outdoor "foyer" of sorts, to the pool area. Pool, hot tub, and area around the pool were sparkling clean. Breakfast seating was great in that you could see the pool and even some ocean, through the clear wall from the pool area to the boardwalk, from the tables. Staff was very polite and friendly. Room was extremely clean. Loved this place!

The room with a patio was wonderful, the beach was right there. Location was a plus. One small downside was having no microwave in the room. Other than that it was a wonderful hotel. I would stay there again in the future. I cannot say enough great things about having the beach so close. There are restaurants within walking distance and a cute coffee place right next door that has really good coffee. The hotel also has a free hot/cold breakfast which is a plus. When you travel food can be expensive.

We loved the location right on the beach close to the most popular sections of the Pacific Beach/Mission Beach boardwalk. Lots of restaurants to walk to. The hotel rents bikes and we enjoyed using their cruisers to bike south down to Sunset Cliffs- a fun several hours. The balcony we had was located on the Northeast corner and was a pleasant spot overlooking the pool and with a partial ocean view.
